The Havre Boucher Community Fridge & Pantry is a volunteer-led initiative supporting individuals and families in Havre Boucher and surrounding communities.
Since opening in July 2024, the goal has been simple: to help ensure that everyone has access to food when they need it.
Inspired by community fridges and pantries across Nova Scotia, this project provides a local, accessible resource where community members can both give and receive food in a respectful, welcoming environment.
The Community Fridge & Pantry is available to anyone who may need a little extra support. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are no applications, registrations, or eligibility requirements.
If you need food, take what you need. If you are able to give, please consider donating what you can.
How It Works
The Community Fridge & Pantry is stocked through the generosity of local residents, businesses, organizations, and fundraising efforts. Dontations may include:
- Fresh fruits and vegetables
- Dairy products
- Bread and baked goods
- Canned and non-perishable foods
- Household essentials

Volunteer Driven
The Havre Boucher Community Fridge & Pantry is entirely volunteer-run. Dedicated volunteers help monitor, clean, organize, stock, and maintain the space to ensure it remains safe, welcoming, and accessible for everyone who uses it.
We are incredibly grateful to the volunteers, donors, businesses, organizations, and community members whose generosity and support make this project possible. Their commitment helps ensure that neighbours in need have access to food and essential items throughout the year.
Donations
Food donations are always appreciated and help keep the fridge and pantry stocked for those who need a little extra support.
Bottle Donations
Bottle donations can be made through the Community Fridge & Pantry account at DeCoste's Recycling, with all proceeds going directly toward purchasing food and maintaining the pantry.
Monetary Donations
Monetary donations help purchase food, household essentials, and supplies, ensuring the fridge and pantry remain stocked throughout the year.
